CSEG Meritorious Service Award Recipient Lloyd Hatlelid

Lloyd Hatlelid The Meritorious Service Award is presented to Lloyd Hatlelid in recognition of his contribution to the CSEG both in hard work and in leadership.

After his graduation from the University of Saskatchewan in 1948 with a degree in Electrical Engineering he commenced his career with Imperial Oil Limited as an Operator Trainee, progressing through the geophysical side of the company while based at various times in Peace River, Regina, Dawson Creek, Edmonton and Calgary.

While in Calgary he found time to serve on the Program Committee of the CSEG Convention, to act as General Vice Chairman of the Convention, as Secretary of the CSEG executive and finally as President of the CSEG in 1979.

In addition, time was spent on the APEGGA Acts and By-Laws Committee as well as a term as Treasurer of the Doodlebug Golf Committee in 1981.

Lloyd then went to Jakarta, Indonesia, on a loan assignment with an Esso affiliate, P. T. Stanvac, for four years and was in charge of data gathering and data processing.

Shortly after returning to Calgary in 1985 Lloyd retired and now leads an active life which includes golf, curling, church activities and volunteer work.

The CSEG Executive takes pleasure in recognizing his contribution to the Society with the Meritorious Service Award.
