Juan Joffre, a Texas A&M University graduate with a Master’s Degree in Geophysics started his career in 1986 when, as few of us remember, the industry was in one of its most difficult moments. Back then he joined Western Geophysical as a field seismologist camping out in the deep jungles of Bolivia, the foothills and plains in Colombia, Trinidad and the Neuquén desert in Argentina before embarking in technical supervisory work, data processing liaison and 3D design responsibilities in the US, Mexico and finally in Canada where he was assigned in 1999. In all, he’s covered a lot of terrain between Tierra del Fuego at the southern tip of Argentina to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada.

Currently, he is a projects and operations Geophysicist with CNRL where he has spent the last 12 years assisting their geophysical team in aspects of data acquisition and design, data processing supervision and special prestack analysis involving characterization projects of both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Lately he has also undertaken interpretation work with the a Deep Basin asset team. Juan joined the DoodleTrain with the conviction that Geophysical support to all our exploration projects can be best delivered by a highly educated and innovative group of professionals, thus his dedication to education based CSEG programs.
