Biography

Salman Khalid works for Schlumberger Canada Limited as a Petrophysics Advisor. He has 27 years of experience in the oil industry. Special interests are in integration of multi-disciplinary data to evaluate, understand and produce complex unconventional petroleum systems, including dry gas or liquid rich shales, tight sands with gas or liquid, CBM and heavy oil reservoirs. He has spent the last 20 years developing advanced methodologies and tool/techniques to evaluate various North American plays. His proficiency is in petrophysics and wellbore geomechanics, with knowledge of geology, geophysics, core analysis, wireline logging, completions, horizontal well drilling and placement as well as fracking. He has extensive experience conducting teaching and technical training. He has spoken at various conferences and authored or co-authored multiple papers
