Geophysical Industry Field Trip
2020 Geophysical Industry Field Trip (GIFT)
What is it: The Geophysical Industry Field Trip (GIFT) brings 40 geoscience students from across Canada to Alberta for a 3.5-day crash course in industry geophysics. It includes:
- A live demo of modern seismic acquisition equipment
- An industry software training session
- Workshops on seismic processing and interpretation
- A guided geological hike in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin
When: May 27th – 30th
Where: Calgary, AB and an out of town location
Cost: $195 per student (includes all meals for 3 days, and transportation / accommodation out of town)

Travel grants are available from the CSEG Foundation and can be found on https://cseg.ca/foundation/apply-for-funds. Apply as early as possible for this grant. Note that grants are also likely available from your university faculty.
