Abstract

With the increase in utilization of microseismic monitoring for hydraulic fracture stimulations over the past decade there has been a commensurate increase in the CSEG membership's interest in technical and applied topics relating to microseismic monitoring. To meet this growing need and interest the CSEG executive has sanctioned the creation of a CSEG Microseismic User Group (MUG) that will provide resources and leadership on this subject. The mission statement below outlines the aims and purpose of the MUG, and as stated the MUG Committee will be initiating a series of regular 'lunchbox meetings'. The Committee is seeking case studies and examples or novel technologies associated with microseismic monitoring for future meetings, please contact Shawn by email if you are interested.
